Seductive showstoppers that wouldn’t look out of place on a red carpet; these are the creations of Paris-based shoe designer Maï Lamore. Being the shoe lover that I am, I was mesmerised the moment I laid eyes on these exquisite beauties. Not just shoes, but gorgeous works of art that take my breath away and definitely not made for walking as I would be perfectly happy to slip on my feet and stare at them all day long. However as a designer, Maï Lamore works to combine luxury and elegance in a wearable way and prior to developing her first footwear collection spent 20 years working in the world of the arts, which included opening three galleries.

Maï Lamore epitomises luxury in every sense of the word and at a price of...ahem...USD$27,945 the rose shoe, below has 18 carat gold rose-stemmed heels [source: elitetraveler] and includes a gold bee nestled among the hand-dyed silk rose petals.

Maï Lamore’s biography reveals a memory from her childhood growing up in Central African Republic, in which she recalls hearing stories about her grandmother, a queen who wore sandals made of gold pieces set with jewels… how treasured and inspiring a memory is that to have. The magic of these stories can be seen reflected in the designs shown, which conjure images of enchanting nymphs and slinky vixens.
